The legendary group Farvel released its fourth and final album ”Farväl” on toppkonst in 2022.

Farvel (2010-2022) was a Swedish-Norwegian jazz and improvisation group based in Gothenburg, formed around vocalist and composer Isabel Sörling. The original line up featured Isabel Sörling (voice), Kim Aksnes (trumpet), Otis Sandsjö (saxophone/clarinet), Henrik Magnusson (piano), Alfred Lorinius (double bass) and Carl-Johan Groth (drums), although Magnusson didn’t participate on the last album ”Farväl”.

Farvel’s music combined composed contemporary jazz with collective improvisation and experimental expression, creating a highly responsive and tightly connected ensemble sound. The group won Young Nordic Jazz Comets in 2010 and received the Swedish Radio Jazzkatten Award for Newcomer of the Year in 2012. Under the name Isabel Sörling Farvel, the group released its debut album, followed by Rök (2015) and Östtomta (2017).
