toppkonst is a Swedish independent music label, established by bassist Alfred Lorinius, guitarist Carl Svensson and pianist John Holmström. Their reason to form the label came from the urge to be able to release new music fairly smooth and easy, with few factors slowing down the process. Do it yourself is the core mentality in it all!
Alfred Lorinius
lives in Karlstad, Sweden and besides his work with toppkonst he’s a lecturer in bass and ensemble at the Karlstad University/Ingesund School of Music. He also runs his own jazz club ”Bakgården Jazz”, where he invites musicians he likes and plays concerts with them. He loves all kinds of music and when he plays bass he tends to appear in projects most people would refer to as jazz or improvisation.

Carl Svensson
guitarist and teacher in Stockholm. Guitarist in various musical projects e.g. with Alfred Lorinius, John Holmström, Klabbe Hörngren (Klabbes Bank), Dick Lövgren (Meshuggah), Samling, Parallel Activity and others.

John Holmström
born in Mölndal, is a piano player and composer. He diverts his musical interests between different kinds of improvised music and enjoys border territories in music. He has a vast experience of traveling and playing abroad but is also very found of the local cultural environment in his home town of Gothenburg where he plays a lot. He is also an experienced martial artist as well as a student of Buddhist mediation and Qi gong. ”Everything is Jazz” is a good phrase to describe Johns love of music.
