Tenor saxophonist Lisen Rylander Löve and double bassist Alfred Lorinius have for many years crossed each other’s paths on the Gothenburg jazz and improvisation scene. Suddenly the idea arose to make music as a duo, which has resulted in the debut album ”Händelser i en park”.
The music is a mixture of compositions and improvisation. They curiously explore the possibilities of contrasts in dynamics, tension and relief, different tonal and sonic structures, intensity versus airiness and more. On the debut album, we get to experience their interpretations of various events in a park, where the intention is to create a story for the listener, where Gothenburg artist Jim Berggren’s art and the duo’s music are woven together into a whole.
